| Militaristic administration is in existence in both the GOSL and LTTE controlled areas of NEP for the past several years. People could not really administer themselves using "People Power", for the benefit of people which is an important ingredient of free governance. I hope the proposed IA will lay the foundation for this freedom of "People Power" and make way to reverse the existing militaristic administartions in the NEP

The landbridge to India will lead to the annihilation of Jaffna's pristine Tamil culture.(LTTE suicide cult)V. Balakumar, LTTE leader and propagandist. The LTTE likes to portray itself as a puritanical organisation and as a promoter of "true and pure' Tamil culture. It carries out cultural cleansing campaigns in areas in which its writ runs, and shows blue movies in the west at functions to raise funds. But the bridge will be a benefit for both countries. Flow of tourists, goods, arms if necessary. Raillinks will promote and improve the bancrupt Srilankan Railway. The free trade agreement will bring amounts of indiangoods.

LTTE plans the war, first tractors will be stolen to transport troops to the battlefields. Targets, Trincomalee and Jaffna. LTTE Police have forcibly taken away a tractor belonging to a civilian from the general area of KILALY. Five armed LTTE cadres forcibly took away a tractor belonging to a civilian in the general area of ODDAMAVADI. Tractor have been hijacked by a group of eight armed LTTE carders from the general area of SOORIYAWEWA. Who can see the signs?

In the forming and functioning of the IA of NEP, we should aim at free governace rather than establishing the rights of Tamils, Muslims and Sinhalese. Free governance would ensure an administration free of corruption. Corruption being defined as using influence rather than justice and fairness in determining any beneficiary, be it a job, finance for rehabilitation or land allocation. Even if the best of resources are provided to IA , which is full of corruption and far from free governance, PEOPLE of NEP will not benefit. Free expression in any free governance can eliminate corruption.

The LTTE's motive is clear: Troops observed 12 LTTE men, engaged in digging a trench ahead of the (FDL). Spying LTTE cadres observed: Troops in OMANTHAI noticed repeated appearance of two suspected LTTE men opposite an observation post to the FDL. 2 men approaching towards the FDL, about 50 meters ahead of their position armed with T-56 weapons and suddenly began approaching towards the FDL and ended up as near as some 15 meters to the observation post of the FDL, causing the troops to challenge them and question them. These two LTTE men, suddenly aimed their weapons at the troops.

JUSTICE and FAIRNESS should be upheld always if Sri Lankans are to eliminate CORRUPTION. The root of corruption is wrong influence or misinfluence. When a Bhikku influences a person spiritually it isn't corruption but when he influences politically, it is definitely corruption. Similarly, when a political leader influences in any political decision it isn't corruption but when he influencess in any spiritual decision it is open corruption. Bhikku is called so because of his spiritual and not political state. Further, he isn't an expert in politics to exercise right influence. Elimination of corruption in politics will definitely bring PEACE to SL

We need the peace. We hoped the peace. We need to live harmonically. But today's question is under which party will we reach the peaceful resolution. Is it under LTTE, with the most viscious leadership and reprsenting the capitalists that deal with various illegal activities? and who kill the same ethnic politicians with different ideologies? This is a real question that we Tamils should think today? I think still the harmonized government as before 1977 will be much benefitted to tamils in SL. It's a small country and no divisions are required. Polpot leaders must be rejected by tamils.

Though a sizable number of doctors graduate from the University of Jaffna, not even ten of them are coming forward to serve in the Jaffna district, preferring to work in the South, in places like Colombo, Kandy and Galle, said Dr. Kumaravetpillai."Already there are many Tamil doctors in such hospitals in the South in excess of what is needed. But graduating Tamil doctors are not coming forward to serve in Tamil areas. Where there is an acute shortage of doctors. They are not willing to pay kappam to the LTTE. If the LTTE is gone the doctors will come back freely.

The LTTE reportedly killed another government informant at Akkaraipattu. (Tamilchelvan)"Every person has a right to live in his place of habitation. The right to live is a fundamental right. No organism can survive for long if it is uprooted from its habitat. Every person has a right to live in the land of his forebears. But whatever the obstacles, our people are determined to live as a free society." But his organisations keeps on killing tamils from their own lands.

LTTE political party, armed terrorists, or rutless criminals? Jugde yourself, news like the following are dayly increasing. Is this the benefit of the MOU? Three armed LTTE cadres who came in a boat had forcibly taken away four fuel tanks that belonged to the fishermen while they were fishing off KALKUDAH bay, about 25 km northwest of BATTICALOA town on 06 August 2003 around 5.30 p.m.According to the fishermen, these LTTE cadres had proceeded towards VAKARAI. They had further stated that they also saw four 1.3 KV generators and two Out Board Motors (OBMs) in the LTTE boat. Robbing their "brothers"?

| PRIDE comes before fall and ARROGANCE alongside will bring disastrous downfall. We as Sri Lankans have had enough of disasters because of the unwanted and useless proud talk of politicians. Let humble talk prevail with the parties talking ,so that, PEACE could find its way. POLITICAL ARROGANCE invariably leads to chaos, war and destruction. People of SL and the international community are sick of listening to proud talk and arrogant threats they want only results the main result being PEACE.

LTTE observe the situation during the festival of the Nallur Kandasamy Temple. A number of youths have been arrested and subjected to interrogation by the LTTE in a house in the Nallur area. Recruitment has also been intensified by the LTTE's propaganda division. parents blame the management of the Temple for inviting the LTTE. LTTE has appointed locals to explain the political situation by holding meetings. These propagandists receive between Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 3,000 from the LTTE. The propagandists are also required spy on democratic political parties especially the EPDP. There terror state is moving forward.

Human rights violation by LTTE. LTTE seal film halls in Vavuniya after screening of adult films. At least 39 youth have been abducted or otherwise disappeared from Vavuniya, Pointing a finger at the LTTE. There is convincing evidence that the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) are taking advantage of the cease-fire with the Sri Lankan government to murder political opponents, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International said. The Sri Lankan police must take immediate action to stop these human rights abuses, and bring to justice those responsible for these crimes.

Life is the most precious thing any living being on the surface of the earth can have and enjoy. Killing of persons, be they enemies or others is denial of this joyous privelege. Further, killing can never solve any problem but will definitely bring problems. " Those who raise a sword shall die by the Sword" . Unavoidable consequence of killing is to be killed. We as Sri Lankans should all LIVE.so,. Let us all throw away the "swords". Let us sit down and genuinely talk, discuss, clarify, negotiate, justify and seek solutions to find PEACE?

It feels very refreshing to feel and see a hint of peace in our beautiful Sri Lanka. at least for now No more road blocks, suicide bombings and civilian casualties.65,000 lives claimed for a war which was never won by either side. Till our (proclaimed) leaders on both sides wake up.. there will be no permenant peace....let us pray that our land finds a true and lasting peace at least for our children.

Tamil medium teachers and principals in Sri Lanka, especially in the northeast province where Tamil is the main medium in schools, are still undergoing untold hardships in transacting official business with the relevant departments as the central ministry of education and other related departments still correspond with them only in the Sinhalese language, the Ceylon Tamil Teachers' Union (CTTU)'s General Secretary, Mr.T.Mahasivam, said

If success the Peace process the wish of both parties & related bodies must be pure. If LTTE has a pure purpose to stop the war why they havn't stop killing completely? I don't approve any killing by anybody. Everybody sould have same right to live peacefully. Everybody must admire other's lives and not to hate other's lives b'se everyone has a limited time to live. Please dont let to happen war. Establish an ever lasting Peace. As well as allivite underworld killings, political killings, & all other assesinations. Thank u

Madam/Sir: |
I was shocked and dismayed to read the comments made by the SLMM on the recent killings by the LTTE as mere "criminal acts." Well, we do not need the SLMM to define the nature of these crimes but we expect them to identify and analyse the culprit and the cause correctly. While appaluding the peace process and the noble intentions of the PM, Minister Moragoda and Ambassador Devinda Subasinghe to restore peace in our strife-torn nation, we think it is time now to ask ourselves, ARE WE READY IN CASE THE SNAKE STRIKES AGAIN?

Killing of any fellow citizen, be it a Muslim, Tamil or Sinhalese brother is completely unacceptable to all of us in Sri lanka. I consider those who abduct and kill as cowards with no bravery at all but fully determined to fill empty graveyards. They do not know to live in this world with LOVE for his fellow human being and solve problems peacefully by compromise, understanding and discussion. They need rehabilitation NOW not tomorrow. for they are retardants to PEACE in Sri Lanka.

| A state is by definition the expression of some concept of justice that legitimizes it's internal arrangements and of a projection of power that determines it's ability to fulfill it's minimum functions - that is to protect it's population from foreign dangers and domestic upheavel. | The fact is that more than 90 % of the Tamils accepted LTTE as their representative. Now, the LTTE on behalf of Tamils are asking for an interim administration with adequate power until a final solution is reached under a federal setup. If the IA is setup, you can easily blame the LTTE for any crime in north and east. Since 75 % of the north and east is already under LTTE control, it won't make any difference. The sinhala friends should understand that the SLG is not negotiating any thing with TULF like in the past.

Tamils around the world are feeling uncomfortable about whats happening in Sri Lanka, up to date. Many bad signs have been coming from the Lanka's top opposition parties, especially from JVP. All Tamils should united under an umbrella. Which is LTTE. So that Tamils can get their freedom. If not, thats all! Everything is done.

"A tree shall be known by its fruits". A healthy tree bears healthy fruits and a sick tree bears unhealthy fruits. A nation at peace will bear fruits of joy; physical, mental and spiritual health of her citizens; economic development; stability and other similar fruits. Although, all fruits cannot be quantified, Peace Dividend GOSL speaks of, indicates only to some extent the economic benefit achieved. Therefore, let us not limit our thinking only to the less important monetary benefit but in addition appreciate the more important and unquantifiable physical, mental and spiritual benefits of PEACE we have overly enjoyed thus far.

| SUBJECT. A FUTURE NEW PA GOVT SEEKS TO ENSURE A LONGER TERM IN OFFICE. |
The PA & JVP claim they can form a govt by entering into a mou between themselves. If then, they do not hold elections and the talks breakdown. Will the Govt be forced to compromise by including the President in the peace talks? |
